About us
The Reason We Train
Fear Can Freeze Anyone
When something goes wrong, the first reaction is not always action. Sometimes people hesitate, overthink, or wait for someone else to decide what happens next. UTC exists to help civilians build the mindset and practical habits that make those moments easier to manage.
The goal is to turn fear into focus, so people can make better decisions when it matters most.
our VISION
Our vision is to become a trusted leader in urban preparedness and civilian readiness by helping create safer, more resilient individuals, families, and communities.
We envision a future where more people understand how to recognize risks, plan ahead, adapt to changing circumstances, and take responsibility for their own safety and preparedness. Through education, awareness, and practical training, we strive to make personal preparedness a normal part of modern life rather than something people only consider after a crisis occurs.
Our goal is to help people move through the world with greater awareness, stronger decision-making skills, and the confidence that comes from being prepared.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to teach practical safety and preparedness skills that civilians can apply in everyday urban life. We focus on clear instruction, realistic situations, and simple planning methods that help people understand what to do before, during, and after a disruption.
Urban Tactical Concepts exists to turn uncertainty into preparation. We help individuals and families build better habits, reduce avoidable risks, and feel more confident when facing emergencies, public safety concerns, or unexpected challenges.
Meet The Team
The People Behind Urban Tactical Concepts
Brad Crews
CEO
Urban Tactical Concepts was founded by Brad Crews with a simple belief: people deserve practical training that helps them stay safer and more prepared in an increasingly unpredictable world.
Many preparedness programs focus on a single area such as firearms, survival skills, or emergency planning. Brad recognized a larger problem. Most civilians needed a complete understanding of urban preparedness, personal security, awareness, and family readiness.
That realization became the foundation of Urban Tactical Concepts.
Brad's approach focuses on helping people understand risks before they become emergencies. Through practical education, scenario-based instruction, and real-world applications, he helps individuals and families build skills that can be used in everyday life.
His goal is not to create fear.
His goal is to help people become more capable, more aware, and more confident in their ability to navigate uncertain situations.
Kevin Holland
cto
Kevin Holland serves as Chief Training Officer, bringing decades of experience in threat recognition, situational awareness, decision-making under stress, personal security, survival, and tactical leadership in civilian training environments.
His instruction is practical, grounded, and purpose-driven. Kevin focuses on helping students understand how awareness, preparation, and sound judgment can reduce vulnerability in everyday life. His goal is to bridge the gap between theory and real-world action, making training clear, useful, and immediately applicable.
Kevin’s military decorations include seven Bronze Stars, two awarded for valor in combat, along with two Purple Hearts and more than 30 total military awards and commendations.
What Sets Us Apart
What We Will Never Be
Fear gets attention, but it does not build real confidence. That is why UTC will never use panic, paranoia, or extreme messaging to make preparedness feel urgent.
We are not here to make people suspicious of everyone around them. We are not here to turn everyday civilians into operators. We are not here to sell unrealistic scenarios, political narratives, or intimidation as training.
Our approach is grounded, practical, and built around real life. Through emergency preparedness training, situational awareness, and responsible civilian education, we help people feel more capable without making them feel afraid.
No fear-based messaging
No political agendas
No intimidation tactics
No unrealistic scenarios
No one-size-fits-all solutions
No training built around panic
Our Commitment
The Standard We Hold Ourselves To
Every training organization has a responsibility to deliver information that is accurate, practical, and relevant. At Urban Tactical Concepts, we take that responsibility seriously. Our standards shape how we develop programs, communicate with students, and deliver training experiences.
· Evidence-Based Instruction: Our training is built on proven principles, real-world observations, and practical lessons rather than assumptions, trends, or sensational claims.
· Civilian-Focused Training: Every lesson is designed with everyday civilians in mind, not military operators, law enforcement professionals, or specialized tactical teams.
· Practical Application: Information should be useful beyond the classroom. We prioritize concepts, habits, and strategies that people can apply in everyday life.
·Continuous Improvement: Threats, technologies, and environments change over time. We continually evaluate and refine our approach to keep training relevant.
·Professional Conduct: Respect, integrity, and professionalism guide every interaction, whether in the classroom, during workshops, or within the community.
·Honest Communication: We believe people deserve realistic expectations, clear information, and straightforward guidance without exaggeration or fear-based messaging.
·Respect for Individual Needs: Every student arrives with different experiences, concerns, and goals. We strive to create an environment that is welcoming, supportive, and informative.
Helping Everyday People Take Preparedness Seriously
Who UTC Is Best For
Urban Tactical Concepts is for everyday people who want to feel more aware, more prepared, and more confident in the places they live, work, and travel.
We train:
Parents who want to protect their children and create a stronger family emergency plan.
Women who want practical personal safety skills without fear-based instruction.
Families who know they need to prepare but are not sure where to begin.
Commuters and travelers who move through public spaces, parking lots, events, and unfamiliar areas.
Homeowners who want to think more seriously about home and family security.
Concerned civilians who want to stop feeling unprepared when the world feels uncertain.
Modern Realities
The World Changes Faster Than Most People Realize
The way people live, work, travel, communicate, and move through public spaces has changed. Daily life is more connected than ever, but it is also more distracted, more dependent on technology, and more vulnerable to sudden disruption.
Phones guide our routes. Apps manage our schedules. Messages replace direct planning. Most people feel connected, yet many have fewer practical backup habits than previous generations.
Urban Tactical Concepts helps civilians close that gap through situational awareness training, personal safety training, and practical education built for real-world conditions. The goal is to help people notice more, think clearly, communicate better, and make safer decisions when normal routines do not work as expected.
What This Means:
Convenience should not replace awareness
Technology should not be the only plan
Busy routines should not create blind spots
Safety habits should fit everyday life
Practical skills should work with or without a signal
Beyond the Individual
Stronger Communities Start With Prepared People
Preparedness is personal, but its impact is shared. When individuals know how to think clearly, communicate well, and respond responsibly, the people around them benefit too.
Urban Tactical Concepts exists to help build that kind of strength, one person, one family, and one community at a time. Through practical civilian preparedness training and real-world education, we help people become more capable in their daily lives and more dependable when situations change.
A stronger community does not happen by accident. It grows when ordinary people take responsibility, support each other, and choose to be ready before they are needed.
What We Hope to Build:
Families that communicate clearly
Individuals who stay aware and responsible
Neighbors who know how to support each other
Communities that respond with calm instead of confusion
A culture where readiness becomes part of everyday life
Don’t wait until fear forces you to prepare.
Don’t wait until fear forces you to prepare.
Train now. Think differently. Live ready.

Preparedness for the realities of modern urban life.
